Basic Sewing Class

Basic sewing class is for the beginner with little to no background in sewing, or for the novice who wants to update their sewing skills. Class will include information on needles, threads, fabric, and fibers. It will also include the following topics:
  • How to use a sewing machine accurately
  • How to layout and cut fabric
  • When to use interfacing
  • How to use a variety of seam finishing, darts, and hand works
  • How to get a correct measurement
  • How to adjust a commercial pattern to fit you

During the sessions, each student will have hands-on practice with making a robe. This class is focused on "learning by doing".


Intermediate Sewing Class

Median sewing class is for the beginner with little background in sewing, or who wants to update their sewing skills, Class will include information on methods sewing zippers, seams, and neck line. Adjust commercial pattern. It will also include the following topics:

  • How to sew a perfect zipper
  • How to set waist bands on skirts or pants
  • How to layout and cut fabric with design/plaid
  • Where to use the variety of seams
  • How to make a variety of pockets
  • How to get a correct measurement
  • How to adjust a commercial pattern to fit your measurement
